Unobtrusive Monitoring of Sleep Cycles: A Technical Review

چکیده

Polysomnography is the gold-standard method for measuring sleep but inconvenient and limited to a laboratory or hospital setting. As result, vast majority of patients do not receive proper diagnosis. In an attempt solve this issue, experts are continually looking unobtrusive affordable alternatives that can provide longitudinal tracking. Collecting data on accelerate epidemiological studies exploring effect health disease. These be in form wearables (e.g., actigraphs) nonwearable under-mattress trackers). To end, paper aims review several attempts made by researchers toward monitoring, specifically cycle. We have performed literature search between 2016 2021 following databases were used retrieving related articles cycle monitoring: IEEE, Google Scholar, Journal Clinical Sleep Medicine (JCSM), PubMed Central (PMC). Following our survey, although existing devices showed promising results, most restricted small sample healthy individuals. Therefore, broader scope participants should taken into consideration during future proposals assessments tracking systems. This because factors such as gender, age, profession, social class largely affect quality. Furthermore, combination sensors, e.g., smartwatches trackers, necessary achieve reliable results. That is, complementary each other, so both needed boost field at-home monitoring.

Technical Approaches to Unobtrusive Geriatric Assessments in Domestic Environments

Two novel approaches to implementing unobtrusive and and nonstigmatizing geriatric assessments in domestic environments are presented. Mobility regarding self-selected gait velocity is assessed using light barriers and a two dimensional laser range scanner. A single power sensor installed into the fuse box helps determining self-care ability by detecting appliance usage. The described assessmen...

A Review on Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Immunosuppressant Drugs

Immunosuppressants require therapeutic drug monitoring because of their narrow therapeutic index and significant inter-individual variability in blood concentrations. This variability can be because of factors like drug-nutrient interactions, drug-disease interactions, renal-insufficiency, inflammation and infection, gender, age, polymorphism and liver mass. Drug monitoring is widely practiced ...

Unobtrusive Monitoring of Knowledge Workers for Stress Self-regulation

In our connected workplaces it can be hard to work calm and focused. In a simulated work environment we manipulated the stressors time pressure and email interruptions. We found effects on subjective experience and working behavior. Initial results indicate that the sensor data that we collected is suitable for user state modeling in stress related terms.
